For schools and municipalities
Learn It is a free app for iPhone and iPad where students practice vocabulary and homework questions. It has no ads and no accounts. This page describes how classes use the app, what Sprinkles is and how to reach us.
Who uses Learn It
Learn It is used by 300,000 students. Updated every two seconds. Download the app with the whole class and watch it go up.
It is used by students from elementary and middle school through high school, for vocabulary but also for math, history and other subjects.
Gothenburg’s primary school administration lists Learn It among the language apps in its schools’ app catalog, and Norrköping municipality lists the app on its page about studying languages. More mentions
Make quizzes with ChatGPT
Want to make a longer quiz, or make one from a page in the textbook? You can do it right in ChatGPT. Give ChatGPT Learn It’s instructions, take a picture of the page or say what the class is studying, and ask for a quiz. You get a link that opens the quiz in Learn It, and the class gets it with a code.
How a class uses Learn It
The teacher or a student makes a quiz and shares it with a code. No one needs an account.
- Make a quiz in the app with this week’s words or questions.
- Open the quiz and tap Sharing code. The app shows a code with five or six digits.
- Write the code on the board, or tap Share code to send the code and a link to the class.
- Students tap Create new and Get with a code, enter the code and add the quiz to their library. They can also open the link.
- They practice at their own pace with Spelling, Multiple choice or Flashcards. After each round they can practice just what they missed.
Sharing or getting a quiz needs internet. Once the quiz is saved in the app, students can practice it without internet.
The app is for iPhone and iPad. Students without it open the link, or enter the code at trylearnit.com, and practice in the browser on any phone or computer.
Sprinkles, Learn It’s own AI
Most people know AI through chat models such as GPT, Claude and Gemini, which write text. Sprinkles is a different kind of AI model. It writes no text. It works out what a request means and finds the words that fit best in Learn It’s semantic lexicon. Learn It trained it to do one thing: build vocabulary quizzes.
Because Sprinkles only chooses from words that are already in the semantic lexicon, a quiz can’t contain a made-up word or translation.
The model runs on the student’s own device. That is why it works with or without an internet connection once it is downloaded, and why Learn It can offer it completely free, with no subscription and no ads. What the student types also doesn’t have to be sent to an AI service in the cloud to be processed.
Sprinkles is also a good way for students to try AI within clear limits. It helps with the vocabulary, and it can’t write their assignment for them.
Students get to see that there are many kinds of AI models besides chat models, and where the limits are for a small model that runs on the device. Ask for a very complicated quiz and it shows: the words and translations are still correct, but the choice of words makes it clear that the request was too hard for the model.
Sprinkles is now available to everyone in Learn It. Update the app if you don’t see it.

For the first ten years of Learn It, its founder Hugo Falk was a student himself. Every day he saw how students used the app and what could be better. That is why we see the value of staying close to schools.
We want to work with more schools and municipalities and make learning even better for them.
